Musik SoulChild Academy

The “Musik SoulChild Academy” is a 7 week program that teaches youth aged 12-16 how to play the guitar with sessions called GUITAR TALK. The students will spend five weeks digging deeper into and exploring themselves through music.  The sessions are 2 hours on Saturdays from 11a-1p at GBL Studios in Denver, CO.  We have a professional guitar instructor to teach the course.  Upon completion of the course the kids will receive a KCF completion certificate as well as their very own guitar to continue their musical journey. Our anticipated goal is to introduce musical instruments to children who come from disenfranchised communities, by exposing them to musical arts and promoting mental health awareness. The development of the cortex happens more rapidly when children learn to play an instrument because they learn to better focus their attention, control their emotions and decrease childhood anxiety. Music, in general, helps bring balance and Harmony in one's life. Children who learn to play an instrument have an outlet for creativity and their emotions. And are also less likely to suffer from depression.
